WORTHING FOODBANK is closed on GOOD FRIDAY, 19TH APRIL & EASTER MONDAY 22ND APRIL. We will be back to normal on Tuesday 23rd April. Happy Easter everyone
Help us support people facing hunger this winter by joining us for the UK’s biggest food collection
Food collection in December 2018 @ TESCO'S, DURRINGTON
During this collection we collected nearly 4 tonnes of Food, so we have not needed a collection in January or February. Our Next collection is back @ TESCO'S, DURRINGTON on SATURDAY 2ND MARCH 2019. Our volunteers will be handing out shopping lists during the day, so please consider donating an item or two during this collection
A full list of all the collections for 2019 are under the collections page. Please do have a look and see when & where we are in 2019.
If you are interested in volunteering and would like to join any of teams please email Julie Denyer on firstname.lastname@example.org
These donations will be used to provide three-days of emergency food to people in crisis. Foodbanks work with frontline professionals to identify people in need and issue them with a foodbank voucher. These include organisations such as children’s centres, housing associations, welfare agencies and community mental health teams.
When we collect @ Tesco, they generously tops up the customer food donations gifting an extra 20% as a financial contribution to the foodbanks. Every donated item will not only help provide vital food for people experiencing crisis, but gain additional top up funding that will help sustain Worthing foodbank for the future.
We are thrilled that Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, shares our vision that no one should go hungry, and is working together with The Trussell Trust and FareShare to empower local communities to fight poverty.
Will you join us to help stop UK hunger?
Our BODY BASIC initiative has been running for some time now, and our clients really appreciate these essential toiletries that we provide for them.
So if you wish to collect items outside our Food collections, we are suggesting that individuals or organisations collect toiletries rather than food.
The items we collect are:
The items in bold are always the products we run out of!!
People wishing to donate items to the Body Basics initiative can do so outside of the FOODBANK Collections by delivering donations to:
Findon Valley Free Church - 1-11 Limetree Avenue, Findon Valley, Worthing, BN14 0DJ. Tuesday to Friday 9am-12pm.
The Shelter Charity Shop - 131 Montague Street, Worthing, BN11 3BP. Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm. Sunday 10am-4pm.
If you are an organisation who wants to help Worthing Foodbank, you can set up a BODY BASIC collection at your work and once you have a good amount, bring it to the foodbank centre or we can arrange a pick up. Please contact Foodbank Manager on email@example.com or 07918759664
2017/2018 April - March
During this period Foodbank has fed 1590 people in crisis a 3-day food supply, That's 14,310 meals.
In the same year we collected 13,525.15 kgs of food from the customers of the supermarkets where we collect and gave out over 17 tonnes. A big thank you to everyone who donates food to the project. You help so many people!
In 2018/2019 April - March
This year, our year ends on 31st March 2019. BUT we have already fed 1655 people a 3 day food supply and with 2 months to go I predict it will probably be nearer 2000. UNIVERSAL CREDIT was rolled out in WORTHING during July 2018. Since the introduction of UNIVERSAL CREDIT we have seen a sustained increase in our Foodbank use. In January 2019 we fed 216 people a 3 day food supply, that is our largest month ever and we have been running 12 years!!

We also receive occasional one-off gifts too, so if you would like to support us, you could become one of the 250 people needed per month to donate just £2 by standing order to help us continue to help those in need.
