Our February collection:

A big thank you to all our volunteers and shoppers on Saturday 1st February at Sainsburys, Lyons Farm Worthing.   The collection from 10am-4pm raised a total of 829.4kgs of food for our distribution centre. We would also like to thank our collection partner on the day #sainsburys who kindly let us set up in the store.

Without the support we receive we would not be able to continue our work with people in crisis in Worthing & the surrounding area.

December 2019 saw one of our biggest drives to collect for our Body Basics initiative.

Along with five collection partners within Worthing, we were able to collect a massive 1.2tonnes of Body Basic items over the December period. The Worthing Foodbank relies on collections to provide supplies to distribute to people in Crisis in the Worthing area, this collection has been organised to complement our monthly food collections so we are able to offer a wider range of essentials to our clients.

We cannot thank both our collection partners and people who have donated over the December period enough for making this collection our most successful Body Basics Collection to date.

Please see our Collections page for details of our forthcoming collection events throughout the Worthing Area if you wish to donate more items throughout the year.

Thank you.-2

WE USUALLY HAVE FOODBANK COLLECTIONS EACH MONTH @ VARIOUS STORE IN AND AROUND WORTHING. Please see the collection section to find out where we are next......

If you are interested in volunteering and would like to join any of teams please email Julie Denyer on
These donations will be used to provide three-days of emergency food to people in crisis. Foodbanks work with frontline professionals to identify people in need and issue them with a foodbank voucher. These include organisations such as children’s centres, housing associations, welfare agencies and community mental health teams.

Collections @ Tesco stores

When we collect @ Tesco, they generously tops up the customer food donations gifting an extra 20% as a financial contribution to the foodbanks. Every donated item will not only help provide vital food for people experiencing crisis, but gain additional top up funding that will help sustain Worthing foodbank for the future.
We are thrilled that Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, shares our vision that no one should go hungry, and is working together with The Trussell Trust and FareShare to empower local communities to fight poverty.
Will you join us to help stop UK hunger?

Our BODY BASIC initiative has been running for some time now, and our clients really appreciate these essential toiletries that we provide for them.
So if you wish to collect items outside our Food collections, we are suggesting that individuals or organisations collect toiletries  rather than food.

The items we collect are:
  • Shampoo
  • Shower Gel
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Razors
  • Shaving Foam
  • Hand Wash/Soap
  • Toilet Rolls
  • Feminine Hygiene
The items in bold are always the products we run out of!!

People wishing to donate items to the Body Basics initiative can do so outside of the FOODBANK Collections by delivering donations to:

Findon Valley Free Church - 1-11 Limetree Avenue, Findon Valley, Worthing, BN14 0DJ. Tuesday to Friday 9am-12pm.
